The Info edit panel displays the most commonly used tagging information.
Mixed is displayed for a field to imply multiple values. Certain controls with limited display space display ??? as an alternate pattern. Note that the rating control uses its title to represent this state.
The fields displayed always represent the total of fields allowed for the current selection. However, any values not appropriate for a particular file type will be ignored when the files are written.
This panel displays the default Comments and Rating. Additional values for these fields can be viewed and created by clicking on the field's function button or by mapping the view to an edit panel preset button.
In Yate, the Track field is always an integer value. When an audio file is read and the Track value is not an integer (eg. A1, A2, B2, etc.), the value is preserved in a Track Position UDTI or Custom Variable. Note that values in Track Position will not be overwritten. When importing from Discogs or MusicBrainz, the Track Position UDTI or Custom Variable can be set. The main window has a column named Position which will display the Track Position UDTI or Custom Variable. An Info+ Custom Edit Panel which displays the Track Position metadata can be downloaded from the Yate Resources web page.
When setting Part of a Compilation via an action use 1 for checked and 0 for unchecked.
The Skip When Shuffling field may be imported from and exported to the field of the same name in iTunes and Music. When setting this field via an action use 1 for checked and 0 for unchecked.
Most of you will be familiar with the five star rating system. Yate internally maintains the rating according to the ID3 specification where it is a number in the range of 0 through 255. Yate supports various different interpretations of the value to star assignment. You can find more on this in Audio File Preferences. The process of specifying a rating in an action has been simplified in the Set statement.
Note that the Year field is configurable in the Preferences-File List. The BPM field is configurable in Preferences-Audio-Common.
